According to the website of the Ministry of Commerce on January 17th, the National Conference on the Integration of Domestic and Foreign Trade was held in Beijing on January 15th. The conference will deeply implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and the deployment of the State Council Executive Meeting, implement the requirements of the National Business Work Conference, summarize the work for 2023, interpret policy measures, exchange experiences and practices, and deploy key work for the next stage.

The meeting pointed out that since 2023, various regions and relevant departments have conscientiously implemented the decisions and deployments of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, accelerated the integration of domestic and foreign trade, achieved breakthroughs in policy measures, accelerated the connection of rules and regulations, and made smooth progress in pilot work. The work system has gradually improved, and the scale and quality of domestic and foreign trade have continued to improve, and the level of integrated development has continuously improved.

The meeting emphasized that accelerating the integration of domestic and foreign trade development is of great significance for building a strong domestic market, promoting high-level opening up, maintaining the stability of industrial and supply chains, and building a new development pattern. In 2024, the competent commerce department should unify its thoughts and actions with the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, focus on implementing policies and measures for integrating domestic and foreign trade, promote reform of the domestic and foreign trade system and mechanism, deepen pilot projects for integrating domestic and foreign trade, cultivate integrated domestic and foreign trade enterprises, build integrated domestic and foreign trade platforms, cultivate integrated domestic and foreign trade industrial clusters, and accelerate the development of integrated domestic and foreign trade. We must effectively strengthen organizational leadership, ensure the implementation of policies, strengthen policy coordination and guarantee, timely summarize and promote experiences, break through key obstacles to the integration of domestic and foreign trade, and strive to achieve substantive breakthroughs as soon as possible.
